Starting Off - The first few months

After countless hours spent making the decision to make Aliyah, meetings with the Shaliach and endless advice from friends and relatives, the day finally arrives to move to Israel.

From the moment that the "go ahead" is given and the visa is issued, there are naturally many questions, especially related to the Israeli bureaucracy that must be negotiated before the process can be fully considered complete.

It is upon arriving at Ben Gurion Airport, often tired and hungry from the flight, that the first encounter occurs. In this case you will be met by UJIA’s representative who will help you through the very first steps at the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.

This section contains information useful for the Aliyah process and the initial klita period in Israel, thus enabling you to proceed through the system as smoothly as possible. Remember that the majority of Olim do get through this period with relatively little trouble.
